Sports The Sports Outreach Ministry of Temple Baptist Church exists to take the message of Jesus Christ to Eastern North Carolina. Its purpose is to use sports and recreation & activities to bring people into life-changing relationships with Jesus Christ. The vision of Temple Baptist Church is to use SOAR in various games, leagues, recreation and activities to meet people in a non-threatening environment; like on a basketball court, golf course, volleyball, walking club, softball, or playing ultimate frisbee. Then we can develop a relationship with them that allows us the opportunity to share something much more important than just the game, activity or the scoreboard. It allows us to share with them what score in the game of life really counts and that’s having an all empowering relationship with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
